Creating the self portrait was a little difficult at first. I was having trouble moving the pieces around, and didn't realize for a while that there was a flip button. After getting used to using this new program it was all pretty simple. You can view my self portrait by viewing the image below or by following this link.

Revisit Resume
I submitted my resume to RezScore.com, and I was very shocked at the score. The first time I scored my resume it go a D-. The first suggestion was to remove the objective section and create a more professional headline. Additionally it said to not use the first person and do not provide references. After fixing the problems with my resume I then rescored it. This time I received a C+. The only suggested that I sell myself more persuasively. Overall I found this site very helpful because it helped me to improve my resume. I also uploaded an updated version of my resume to Google Docs.

Snipping Tool
I have always loved using the snipping tool. Often times it is necessary to only show individuals important parts of a website. This tool proves to be very helpful in fulfilling this task. I used the snipping tool to snip the applications in Fairmont State Blackboard. I would use this snipping tool to teach individuals how to use the online system at Fairmont State.

Google Docs
I hadn't used Google Docs before this class, so I now have a new skill and way to provide people with important documents. I believe it will be very vital in my teaching career. I believe it ties in with ISTE NETS standards 2, 3, and 5 because it is positive growth in professional and learning environments, and it is also incorporating new technology.

Millennial Score
My Millennial score was 74, which was only one above the beginning of the Millennial group. http://pewresearch.org/millennials/quiz/index.php I feel my score was this low because I still have a pretty old school set life. I don't have any tattoos, my only piercings are on my ears, my parents have been married my whole life, and I am very religious. As far as my results are concerned, in relation to my teaching and my students learning, I really don't think it makes much of a difference. I have always believed that different people have different beliefs and ways of lives. I am and always have been very open to differences, and I am willing to adapt to whatever situation I am in.
Frand's 10 characteristics of the information mind set are as follows: computers aren't technology, Internet is better than TV, reality is no longer real, doing rather than knowing, Nintendo over logic, multitasking as a way of life, typing rather than handwriting, staying connected, zero tolerance for delays, and finally consumer/creator blurring. Honestly, I don't remember the first time I used a computer, so to me it wouldn't really be technology. I agree that Internet is better than TV even though I still find TV valuable. Reality is not longer real, with this I strongly agree. With all the different programs out there for altering video and picture you never really know what is real. In our age information does have a very short self life. Therefore, people today are less likely to be interested in knowing things. Often times they are more about doing it, and on this section I am quite split. For me I would often go out and do things rather than know things, but I still feel that learning is very important. I am not much of a gamer so I have never really been the trial and error type. When I am learning and doing school work I would rather take my time and get it done right the first time. Multitasking for me, is a way of life. I have many different things going on at all times and I am very good at tackling it all simultaneously. Additionally, I am 100% typing over handwriting. I am a very avid user of social networking sites and cell phones, and I find them important in today's world to stay connected. I must admit that I have a very low tolerance for delay. The quickness with witch this age has given us things has caused me to be quite impatient. However, this is something I work on correcting on a daily basis. Finally I agree with consumer/creator blurring. Most times when I view things online I have no idea who actually created it.
Overall I feel that I am in the 10 characteristics. I feel it is very important to be in, because today's society is based on these characteristics. If we have a lack of the information age it could be very bad for us. We must stay up with the changing technology if we want to continue to succeed in today's world. I had my younger brother take this quiz and his score was a 92. He was born even deeper into the information age so I feel he is even more technologically dependent.

A Little Bit About Me...
Hello fellow classmates! My name is Paige Phillips and I am a sophomore at Fairmont State University in Fairmont, WV. Most of my summer will be spent at my part time job at the local Kmart. I live at home with my parents, little brother, and my dog. Currently I am working on a double major in Elementary Education and Spanish, and eventually I would like to teach overseas in a Spanish country. I went on a mission trip to Costa Rica with my church last summer, and it was this trip that inspired me to create this goal.
During my senior year in high school we were required to do a senior project. I collected school supplies for an Untaga Elementary School in the Philippines. You can check out my website to get more information, or you can like my page Project Equip Untaga on facebook.

For fun I love reading. Some of my favorite books include all of the Harry Potter books, The Hunger Games trilogy, and anything by Nicholas Sparks. One of my favorite hobbies is photography. It gives me a way to express myself, and it is also very relaxing. Below are just an example of some of my photos.
